Christmas Offertories for Charity
As in previous years, Church Council decided to devote the cash portion of the offertories at the Gift, Carol, Christingle and Christmas morning services to charitable causes helping disadvantaged and needy people and children.
This year this charitable giving will be split equally between HomeStart, Sutton Coldfield, who are also receiving the gifts and toys given at our two Gift Services, and the Circuit Refugee Fund, which assists, supports and encourages refugees in this locality in so many ways.
Thank you in anticipation of your generous response.
Our Junior Church is small and doesn't always meet. In order to make sure that there are people available to take children, if they appear on a Sunday morning, we have a rota. Currently it is difficult to maintain because there are not many volunteers and preparing for a lesson when children don't appear can be disheartening. For that reason we are planning to have a resources cupboard with plenty of activities available for those leading Junior Church when children do come.
In order to make this work we do need more volunteers. You will never have to take children alone. You don't have to have done anything like this before as we will show you know how it works. You don't have to be a particular age or gender either! The more who offer the better it will be - as you join, and help reform, a team of committed volunteers.
Please contact our minister, Rachael Turner or a steward for more information. Or put your name on the sign-up sheet in the lounge.
No Lunch Circle In January
There will be no Lunch Circle in January. We hope to have a New Year celebration in February! Look out for further notices.
Sunday Collection Envelopes
For those who use the weekly envelopes for the collection each Sunday, your envelopes for 2017 are now available in the porch for you to collect.
Please have a word with me or give me a ring (354 6117) if you are interested in knowing more about the envelope scheme. You do not have to be a taxpayer to join but if you are and you gift aid your weekly gift the church is able to reclaim an additional 25% of your gift from the Government at no further cost to yourself. I would add that each member's gift is kept strictly confidential.

Merry Christmas from Sid Sansome
Sid Sansome would like to send his best wishes for a Happy Christmas to everyone at Boldmere, as he is still in hospital and so unable to be with us.
Christmas leaflets advertising our services and those of other churches in the area are in the entrance porch ready for distribution. If you can help distribute please do so. On the sheet listing roads for delivery, please note down which roads you are covering. Thank you!
As arranged over the last few years the opportunity to donate to charity instead of sending cards will be available in the lounge. (See the notice board later in the month). The baskets will be available in the porch for those who still wish to give cards.
